Ellen is an accomplished public health advocate, retired nurse, and long-standing CCC board member. Dr. Steven J. Corwin is President and Chief Executive Officer of NewYork-Presbyterian, one of the nation’s largest, most comprehensive healthcare systems.

Ellen Corwin is a CCC Board Member and public health advocate who took our Community Leadership Course in 2011 and subsequently served as Vice President and Chair of our Program Committee and member of our Executive Committee. She also serves on the Executive Steering Committee of the Women’s Health Symposium at NewYork-Presbyterian and Weill Cornell Medicine’s Iris Cantor Women’s Health Center. Ellen was born, raised and educated in the Bronx and is a former nurse who worked in various inpatient and outpatient settings including the Adult Medical ICU at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and as a school nurse.
Steven J. Corwin, MD, is President and Chief Executive Officer of NewYork-Presbyterian, one of the nation’s largest, most comprehensive healthcare systems. Under his leadership, NewYork-Presbyterian has nearly doubled in size and now comprises 10 hospitals and 200 community-based clinics and practices across New York. In addition to having tirelessly managed one of the largest populations of COVID-19 patients in the country, Dr. Corwin positioned NYP to national leadership on addressing the root causes of racial and economic health inequity by establishing the Dalio Center for Health Justice. Dr. Corwin also serves on CCC’s Corporate Advisory Council.
