CCC’s New York State Budget Recommendations for State Fiscal Year 2012-2013

Published March, 2012

CCC responded to the New York State Fiscal Year 2012-2013 Executive Budget proposals with Budget Recommendations for the Governor and State Legislature.

CCC supported budget proposals such as the Juvenile Justice Close to Home initiative whereby the custody of children in state non-secure and limited secure placement facilities would transfer to New York City. CCC opposed proposals including those that would permanently amend child welfare statutes to reimburse counties at lower rates, and those that would alter reimbursement for Early Intervention services for young children with special needs. CCC recommended that the State fund more Family Court Judges, raise the minimum wage and invest in increasing mental health treatment capacity for children.

CCC’s Budget Recommendations to the Governor and New York State Legislature: State Fiscal Year 2012-2013 details all of CCC’s recommendations made in response to the State Executive Budget that we advocated to have incorporated in the State Fiscal Year 2012-2013 Adopted Budget.
