CCC Testimony: City Council Oversight Hearing: School-Based Mental Health Services

Published May, 2012

CCC testified about the need to increase children’s access to school-based mental health services during a New York City Council joint Mental Health and Education Committees Oversight Hearing on School-Based Mental Services on May 1, 2012.

Providing mental health services to young children, in the settings where they can be easily reached, is critical to ensuring the mental health needs of children are met. CCC’s testimony, informed by our survey of principals and school-based mental health providers, includes recommendations to better ensure children have access to mental health services as early as possible and in settings (such as schools) where they can be easily reached.
