Senior Policy and Advocacy Associate for Youth Justice
Grant Cowles manages CCC’s policy and advocacy work for Juvenile Justice, Education, and Youth Services. His work focuses on advocating for budgets, laws and policies that improve the lives of youth in schools, communities and the justice system. Grant participates in a number of coalitions and initiatives, including the Raise the Age New York Campaign, the NYC Youth Alliance, Beacons Unite and the Campaign for Children. Grant previously worked in the Office of Juvenile Justice for New York State’s Division of Criminal Justice Services where he led reform projects throughout the state using research-based principles to improve outcomes for youth who become involved in the juvenile justice system. He has also worked in public-policy advocacy organizations, offices for elected state and federal officials, and community based organizations providing direct services. Grant graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University with a B.A. in Political Science and from NYU School of Law with a J.D.
