Apurva Mehrotra, MPA

Director of Research and Data Analysis

Apurva Mehrotra, as Director of Research and Data Analysis, leads the four-person data team in the production of various print and web-based products, and other data-driven tools to bolster CCC’s mission and advocacy efforts. In this role, he is responsible for managing CCC’s Keeping Track of New York City’s Children database including development of CCC’s biennial Keeping Track data book, the annual Community Risk Ranking, and Keeping Track Online, as well as overseeing all community-driven qualitative research projects for the organization. Apurva was instrumental in the development of the new community risk ranking and asset mapping features on Keeping Track Online and has authored numerous recent reports for CCC including From Strengths to Solutions: An Asset-based Approach to Meeting Community Needs in Brownsville and Keeping Track of Family Homelessness in New York City. Prior to joining CCC, Apurva was a Policy Analyst at the Community Service Society (CSS), where he authored reports on issues ranging from the minimum wage to enrollment trends at selective public schools in New York City. He also authored reports on the findings of CSS’s annual Unheard Third survey, detailing the hardships and policy preferences of low-income New Yorkers. Apurva’s work contributed to the funding of a college support program for foster youth in New York State, and several of his reports received extensive media coverage. Apurva has a B.A. in Journalism from New York University and a M.A in Public Administration from Baruch College.
