Published January 2013

The New York State Executive Budget for State Fiscal Year 2013-2014 proposes to increase support for education, create state-funded Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) for higher needs children in lower wealth school districts, and continues much-needed reforms to the Juvenile Justice System by closing underutilized facilities and expanding the Close to Home Initiative to counties outside New York City.

CCC’s Summary of the New York State Fiscal Year 2013-2014 Executive Budget Proposals provides a detailed summary of the proposals related to children and categorizes them as positive, negative or requiring further assessment by CCC.
